Pampa, Texas
Pampa High School teen driver survey results indicate that their students are more likely to drive dangerously than other Texas high school students, even though they are generally more aware of the risks they face behind the wheel. A press event was held on May 14, 2008 to announce their school's survey results and to kick off TDS. Pampa High School is the first school in the Texas Panhandle to launch the program.

San Antonio, Texas
Texas State Congressman Ciro Rodriguez and Texas Transportation Commission Chairwoman Hope Andrade joined with students from Communications Arts High School in San Antonio on April 7, 2008 to announce the securing of federal funding to promote TDS in the Southwest Texas region.

Waco and West, Texas
Students from Connally and West High Schools in Central Texas issued challenges to one another at a press conference held on December 20, 2007. The challenge is to see which school can make the most improvements in driving safety.

Duluth, Georgia
Students at Duluth High School near Atlanta have started the first TDS Program outside of Texas. The TDS team members held a news conference on November 14, 2007 to share survey results from their school and to outline their action plan for the upcoming school year.

TDS announced the results of the biggest-ever survey of young Texas drivers at the Texas State Capitol on October 30, 2007. Speakers at the press conference include Krizia Martinez of San Antonio, Tabitha Zant of Mason, Texas, State Senator Kirk Watson, Transportation Commissioner Hope Andrade, TTI Director Dennis Christiansen, and Ronnie Lee Vandiver of State Farm Insurance.

On Wednesday, August 22, 2007, Odessa High School students hosted a news conference at their high school to promote the Teens in the Driver Seat program. The students met with local news media to answer questions about the program and how they plan to help stop the number-one killer of teens.

Louise, Texas
Teens in the Driver Seat was recently started in the Louise Independent School District. Two crashes had claimed the lives of two students, and their classmates decided to make a difference by alerting others to the dangers associated with teen driving.

In December 2005, members of the San Antonio Youth Commission held a Teens in the Driver Seat news conference to make their community aware of the increased accidents that occur during the holiday season. The news conference was conducted entirely by the students, with broad coverage by the San Antonio news media.

San Antonio, Texas
In May 2005, a news conference was held to announce the formation of the Teens in the Driver Seat Coalition. Members are from the Texas Transportation Commission, Texas Department of Public Safety, Bexar County, City of San Antonio and the Texas Transportation Institute. Coalition members work together to ensure funding for the program and offer guidance to schools interested in starting the program.
